A scifi fable for elementary audiences about bullying in and out of school.
Explore moving in various directions, levels, and pathways while dancing in a shared group space to identify the attributes of the four basic shapes.
Students build, set up, and weave a strip on their own backstrap loom in 5 days while they learn all about weaving and fibers. Short residencies (1-2 day) feature weaving and spinning demonstrations.
Students weave a project on a treadle loom or their own backstrap loom. Residencies feature weaving activities adapted to specialized classrooms.
This residency uses improvisation to create a space where students can create poetry by conjuring concrete images to make their poems pop with detail.
Themes/skills include creativity, patterns and rhythm, ecological awareness, science and geography.
Students will learn to write and edit poems with strong imagery and creative techniques.
This inspiring experience allows each student the opportunity to create an original wire art piece.
