A fund to bring Wake County students to area arts and cultural destinations!
The Wheels on the Bus Fund covers transportation and admission costs for one grade level per school annually at Wake County Title I public elementary schools for field trips to area arts and cultural destinations.
Schools must choose their field trip destination from a list of available options. Field trips must take place during the school day. Schools may submit only one application per school year. The fund covers transportation and admission costs for the trip.
For the 2026-2027 school year, we are offering the following three field trips:
- Raleigh Little Theatre’s Cinderella on Wednesday, December 9, 2026 at 10:30 am (90 minutes, no intermission) THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT.
- Carolina Ballet’s Nutcracker on Friday, December 11, 2026 at 12 noon at Raleigh Memorial Auditorium (60 minutes)
- Heart of Carolina Jazz Orchestra’s JazzTales on Wednesday, March 24, 2027 at 10:15 am or 11:45 am in the SECU Auditorium at the NC Museum of Art (60 minutes)
