Wake Murals

Through the Wake Murals program and with the support of the Wake County Government, the United Arts Council of Raleigh and Wake County works with municipalities in Wake County to create new murals that transform public spaces and become visible representations of the thriving arts community in Wake County.

Completed 2023

United Arts, in partnership with the town of Rolesville and Ting Internet, unveiled three murals in downtown Rolesville by local artist Gabriel Eng-Goetz.

Through a thoughtful blend of community input and personal research, Gabriel’s bold and colorful murals explore Rolesville’s connection to nature, its rich agricultural history, and its tapestry of diverse cultures. The murals include:

Prepare for Take-Off located at Main Street Park features a trio of paper airplanes held in the hands of children symbolizing an inclusive future for Rolesville residents.
Night Moves located at Town Hall features a blooming tobacco plant bathed in moonlight – a crop that helped fuel the local economy for generations.
Pathways at Privette Insurance features an American Beauty Berry branch traversed by a family of ladybugs, inspired by the location‘s proximity to the Greenway.
