🌟IDEAL Intern Takeover🌟 Hi everyone! I’m E

🌟IDEAL Intern Takeover🌟 Hi everyone! I’m Elizabeth Njoroge and for this summer I have been working at the Fuquay-Varina Arts Center as an IDEAL Summer Intern. Since the center officially opened in 2019, it has been an advocating and significant resource within the Fuquay-Varina community. I had some fun taking photos in one of the dance studios, the digital lab, and the gallery space of the center which always has something inspiring to admire.

Through the guidance of the center’s director Maureen Daly, I have been working on the planning and development of a cultural district plan for Fuquay-Varina to know how it works, what is present within it, and how to effectively identify the various assets of the town. I also wanted to give a shoutout to my mentor Phillip Loken (@kingphill_), an incredible individual who you should definitely check out his work on all platforms! His advice and knowledge keeps me hopeful and optimistic for the future!

Working at the Fuquay-Varina Arts Center has been an eye-opening and very welcoming experience. Not only have I had the chance to engage with the art center’s environment, staff, teachers, and students, but also to have the chance to explore and become more aware of the beauty and community of the town. These experiences are very precious to me and will be something I won’t forget!
