[post_content] => Enjoy an afternoon of late Classical symphonic works composed in Paris and the North American premiere of Sergii Leontiev's Little Bachiana, written for Baroque Orchestra.
Sunday, March 15th, 4 PM
Hayes Barton United Methodist Church
2209 Fairview Rd, Raleigh, NC
The musical scene in Paris was unlike anywhere else in Europe. The draw of talent to the Paris Conservatory also fostered musical experimentation, exploration, and a stretching of musical idioms. Haydn wrote his Symphony No. 87 only 10 years apart from Reicha's first Symphony in E-flat, but they are tonally so very different.
Winners of the third annual High School Baroque Artist Residency Competition will also perform with the Raleigh Camerata on Haydn's Symphony No. 87 in A major. Hear the delightful sounds of classical flutes, oboes, bassoons, and horns with a full string orchestra.
