In the business world, conflict is a natural part of the pursuit of excellent. But it can leave a sour aftertaste. We will present three one-hour workshops aimed at turning enemies into allies. This is a hands on workshop that uses classic theatre games to bond a team together using conflict as the starting point for collaborations that will last the test of time. Class will include improvisation, trust exercises, non-vocal communication and Viewpoints exercises that emphasizes collective storytelling. Classes will be limited to 30 and will take place either on three consecutive days or once a week for three weeks. Fee: $200 per hour. Burning Coal will work with company to modify the class to fit its specific needs.

In 20 years, Burning Coal has grown from a small start-up with a budget of $30K to one of the southeast’s most innovative theatres with a budget over $500K. In 2014, Coal became the first theatre in the world to present Tony Award winning playwright David Edgar’s Iron Curtain Trilogy, then took the three productions to London, where the productions received a 4-star review from the Guardian’s Michael Billington.
