Soul of Langston is a one-man stage play about the triumphs, challenges, and impact of the beloved American poet, playwright, and civil-rights activist Langston Hughes. From “busboy and poet” to becoming Harlem’s Wonder, helping establish the Civil Rights movement through the Harlem Renaissance, SoL takes the bitter-sweet wit and wisdom of Langston’s poetry, underscored with jazz and blues, and translates it into an inspiring story of resilience and persistence.
Each assembly will allow students to experience a live, professional, theatrical performance of SOUL OF LANGSTON, followed by a Q&A with the actor and a post-performance classroom discussion activity.
