Newsletter Entry Template

Schools are encouraged to include a short description of Artists in Schools events in school communication (i.e. web site, newsletters, social media, etc.) Artist and program details can be found in the Artists in Schools Directory.

Douglas Elementary used the following sample in the school’s electronic newsletter.  You may modify it as appropriate to your school’s programs and communications.

This week, Diane Silcox Jarrett, a professional teaching artist and writer of several children’s nonfiction books, is visiting the third grade for a writer residency. The week-long residency is  funded through the Douglas PTA and a grant from the United Arts Council of Raleigh and Wake County. During this residency, students will write stories from a time period of history they are studying. Throughout the school year, several performance groups and professional teaching artists come to Douglas through a partnership between the PTA and the United Arts Council.
