Strengthen your Presence

Strengthen your Presence

How to command the room.  Theme:  Speaking authoritatively.  A five hour workshop will be conducted either on five consecutive days (one hour a day) or once a week for five weeks (one hour each meeting). Class enables students to command the room through discipline, creativity, vocal energy, and the articulation of words.  If you can’t say it, you probably can’t think it.  So learn how to say it with maximum impact.  Class includes physical and vocal warm-ups, how to project your voice, use of gesture, vocal variety, when to inject humor, how to begin and end a speech and how to lead Q&A sessions following your talk.  Classes will be limited to 30 and will take place either on five consecutive days or once a week for five weeks.  Burning Coal will work with company to modify the class to fit its specific needs.

"The summer course was challenging and exciting. I will certainly attend again as soon as time allows! My growth as an actor and as a director is immeasurable thanks to Burning Coals unique opportunities."
— Robyne Parrish, Artistic Director/Gilbert Theatre (Fayetteville)
