Across the Divide: Race, Culture and Understanding Our Neighbor

Across the Divide: Race, Culture and Understanding Our Neighbor

Across the Divide begins with a 50 minute performance of Mike Wiley’s interactive production, "Jackie Robinson: A Game Apart". Looking back at ourselves through the lens of American History. The second and third phases of the residency lead by Mike Wiley and Howard Craft, build bridges toward multiculturalism.  As Shakespeare wrote, “What is past is prologue,” and therefore we must understand ourselves first before attempting to understand others. “Where I’m From,” and “Where They’re From” are writing/acting exercises that easily enable even the novice writer and actor to become a poet and performer.  With Across the Divide your organization acknowledges its commitment to an ongoing process of self education and coalition building in order to create open supportive environments.

“More than mere versatility…  It’s virtuosity.”
