Vault Theatre on Tour: Red Riding Hood

Vault Theatre on Tour: Red Riding Hood

Vault Theatre produces a new professional show to take on the road in the Triangle each year! For the 2024-2025 school year, VT is taking Red Riding Hood by Allison Gregory to schools. Step into the theatre for one of the world’s best actors, Wolfgang’s legendary performance of the classic fairy tale! This one-wolf show is interrupted by the delivery of a mysterious package, but instead of leaving, the delivery person joins Wolfgang to tell the story. Like an unexpected package, when you open up a fairy tale, you never know what you’re going to find!

In this performance, students will be able to see a new version of a well-known fairy tale retold on stage. In each grade level, K-5th students will be able to make connections from page to stage comparing and contrasting the classic tale with this new version by Allison Gregory. The two actors in the piece create the entire story with all the characters through a refreshed, funny version that will resonate with students in each grade in unique ways. VT’s pillar program is its Vault Theatre on Tour Theatre for Young Audience (TYA) productions.

VT makes theatre accessible by taking the productions directly to schools. VT is dedicated to producing stories that are thematically, educationally, and artistically programmed with young audiences at the heart of the decision making.
