Darren Sardelli is a fun, animated author who knows how to get everyone excited about poetry!
In his lower grade assemblies, students solve poetry riddles, illustrate poems with their imaginations, and become characters in Darren’s poems. In his upper grade assemblies, students learn how to make their poems and stories stand out, use their imaginations to make objects more interesting, and discover how to empower themselves with words. Participants will be motivated to read and write poetry, start an idea book, and think in a creative direction.
Artist Background
Award winning poet, international children’s book author, and animated speaker, Darren Sardelli, has been visiting schools since 2004. He knows how to get students and educators excited about poetry. His assemblies and writing workshops empower young people and help them discover an appreciation for words and literacy. He has programs for Pre-K, elementary, middle, and high students. Darren’s poems are featured in 33 children’s books, national and international textbooks, children’s magazines, are a part of school curriculums, and have been used on state tests.
