Didgeridoo Down Under master performer/producer Rob Thomas has created a mesmerizing NEW musical and cinematic science adventure that launches students on an epic journey from Earth into the solar system and far beyond. Rob weaves didgeridoo world music, awe-inspiring visuals, storytelling and audience participation into a captivating and interactive program that explores planets, ocean worlds, stars, distant exoplanets and more!
Students will discover how scientists uncover the secrets of worlds they cannot yet visit … revealing star birth in glowing nebulae, hidden oceans beneath icy moons, and planets orbiting distant suns … while demonstrating how observation, data, and physics turn curiosity into knowledge. Aligned with NGSS concepts in space science, energy, forces, and scientific investigation, the program shows students not just what we know about the universe – but how we know it.
Throughout the show, Rob performs world fusion music with his vast collection of didgeridoos and worldly percussion instruments. The didgeridoo has been played by Australian Aboriginal people for at least 1500 years, and it’s known for its otherworldly sound. Rob plays a modern style, mixing fast-paced rhythms with relaxing soundscapes and organic sound effects. Some students will be invited on stage to play clap sticks during one of his musical pieces. Star Quest is interactive, inspirational, educational and entertaining for all ages!
