
Antonio draws from his repertoire of folktales and personal stories with an ecological, community and kindness oriented theme accompanied by a myriad of realistic sound effects, one of a kind movement and fantastical characters. This presentation teaches kids about the importance of our natural world, our kindness and communities for we depend on them for our livelihoods. Furthermore Antonio has a kind hearted approach to lessen anxieties about the future while bringing perspective to his listeners about life in the present moment. Antonio Rocha, pronounced Haw-sha, is literally a world class performer having performed in 20 countries as well as in 44 US states from Maine to Hawaii. He has been in the United Arts roster for over 12 years, with many schools booking him back time and time again.
Artist Background
Antonio Rocha, originally from Brazil, presents a unique fusion of acting, mime and realistic sound effects creating an extremely engaging and dynamic educational experience. His career spans almost 40 years with performances including Wolf Trap, The Kennedy Center, The Smithsonian and several storytelling festivals, schools and libraries in 44 states in the USA and 20 other countries across 6 continents. He is the recipient of prestigious awards such as Parents Choice GOLD in 2008 and The Oracle Circle of Excellence by The National Storytelling Network, 2015. Antonio has also been in the roster of United Arts since 2010 presenting successfully in both elementary and middle schools settings.
