United Arts Honors Capitol Broadcasting with Inaugural United Arts Champion Award
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Wake County, NC – August 7, 2024 – United Arts Wake County is proud to announce Capitol Broadcasting Company (CBC) as the recipient of the first-ever United Arts Champion Award. This recognition is in honor of CBC’s exceptional contributions to the arts community and their unwavering support of the United Arts’ mission to enhance the cultural landscape of Wake County.
Capitol Broadcasting has played a pivotal role in the success of numerous initiatives, including the highly acclaimed Big Night In for the Arts broadcasts that helped artists and arts organizations Triangle-wide survive the pandemic.
“All of us at WRAL and Capitol Broadcasting Company (CBC) are truly honored to be recognized in this way,” said Joel Davis, Vice President and General Manager of WRAL-TV and FOX 50. “This reflects our teams unwavering commitment to supporting arts in our community. Service and celebration of our region is part of WRAL and CBC’s daily mission. We will continue to support organizations like United Arts of Wake County in helping foster better, more creative, and collaborative communities.”
The award will be presented to CBC at the upcoming Coffee & Culture event on Tuesday, September 17, from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at Venture Hall in Marbles Kids Museum. This event will bring together community leaders, artists, and supporters to recognize the artists and organizations that create our cultural infrastructure and honor the partnerships that characterize Wake County’s cultural landscape.
In addition to CBC being presented with the Inaugural United Arts Champion Award, the event will feature performances by the Enloe Jazz Quartet and a community sculpture art-making session led by Patrizia Ferreira, a textile artist and educator.
United Arts extends its gratitude to our Coffee & Culture 2024 Sponsors: Glenwood Agency, Visit Raleigh, Brooks Pierce, Mary Anne Howard, Pineapple Sol, and Marbles Kids Museum; and our season sponsors: First Citizens Bank, Wake County Government, and North Carolina Arts Council. Their contributions are vital to fostering a vibrant arts community.
