Join United Arts for a fun First Friday Exhibit and Reception on Feb. 2 from 6-8 pm at our office, 410 Glenwood Ave., Suite 170, Raleigh (entrance and parking lot on Tucker Street). The exhibit will feature artwork by Christine Young. Chris's recent landscapes range from impressions to abstraction. They are created with oil and cold wax – applied, layered, scraped, and marked – creating textured and complex expressions of nature.
In addition, we are excited to welcome five Wake County students who participated in the following United Arts' supported writer residencies:
The Raleigh School, 3rd grade writer residency with Michael Beadle
Ligon Middle, 7th grade writer residency with Mimi Herman
Northwoods Elementary, 4th grade writer residency with Tony Peacock
Martin Middle, 8th grade writer residency with Diane Silcox-Jarrett
Washington Elementary, writer residency with Kelly Starling Lyons
Students will read excerpts from the pieces they wrote as part of these writer residencies.
Our First Friday reception is free and open to the public. All ages are welcome. Light hors d’oeuvres, beverages, and arts activities for all ages will be provided. Art on view through the end of February.
Thanks to Trader Joe's for providing refreshments!!
