Inspiring Literacy Moves!
How can text be expressed through movement? In this workshop, K–5 educators and administrators will focus on exploring natural integrations between Dance Standards and the English Language Arts Standard Course of Study. We will experience the ways that rhythm, key details in texts, and powerful use of imagery in literature, inspire choreography. Through collaborative activities, participants will have the opportunity to create dances using poetry and story, learning ways to connect words with movement in order to broaden our understanding of both. Let’s move our words and put literacy on its feet! User friendly and no dance training required.
