United Arts Council

Arts Integration Workshop for Elementary and Middle School Educators – POSTPONED

Teaching History From the Page to the Stage

Bring social studies to life in your classroom through theatre! Learn to engage your students in writing and acting to understand historical events, figures, cultures, communities, and contemporary issues. Theatre offers valuable communication tools that stimulate deeper understanding, cognitive development and social change in your students. As we immerse ourselves in history and theatre, we will research the life and world of Jackie Robinson, who is part of the Wake County Schools fifth grade curriculum standards. Please note: you need not be a fifth grade teacher, nor an experienced actor or playwright to participate in this workshop.
