The Artists in Schools program is a partnership between United Arts and the Wake County Public School System and local schools. For more than 40 years, this program has placed professional teaching artists in public, private, and charter schools across our district.
Cultural Arts Representatives are volunteers from each participating school who act as a liaison between the artist, United Arts, and school officials. Representatives are typically a parent who also serves on the school’s PTA or teachers who volunteer their time for the benefit of the school.
Experience in the arts is not required for this service. United Arts only requests that volunteers believe in the power of the arts and strive to provide friendly communication between artists and their school.
