Duke Energy Makes $18,500 Donation for the Arts in Wake County

[Raleigh, N.C.]—Duke Energy has made a $18,500 donation to the United Arts Council of Raleigh and Wake County in support of arts education programming for Wake schools.

“At Duke Energy, we want to support and to be involved in our communities,” said Marty Clayton, Community Relations Manager at Duke Energy. “We are proud to invest in programs like the United Arts Council of Raleigh and Wake County’s Artists in Schools to expand students' access to arts.”

“Duke Energy has been a longtime supporter of arts education in Wake County” said United Arts President and CEO, Eleanor Oakley. “We are grateful for their generous investment as well as their endorsement of arts education programming.”

Artists in Schools, one of the programs supported by Duke Energy, brings in teaching artists for performances and residencies that integrate the arts with core subjects. These artists work with faculty, students and cultural arts representatives to implement curriculum-based arts in education programs throughout the county.
