SUMMARY:PineCone Open Bluegrass Jam
DESCRIPTION:The monthly PineCone Bluegrass Jam is a “circle jam\,” where musicians gather in a circle and play together. Tunes are played up to speed and everyone interested in playing bluegrass instruments is  welcome. \nThis jam will be held outdoors when weather permits. TransferCo has a beautiful patio\, with lots of room for pickers and spectators alike. There’s also a spacious ballroom just off the Food Hall that’s got room for a nice sized circle. \nJam leader Ron Raxter is pictured far left playing the upright bass. (photo by Tom Beck)\nFacilitated Ron Raxter\, the repertoire includes both instrumentals and vocal songs. Ron is one of PineCone’s founding members and is active in a number of local jams. He’s a retired attorney\, bass player and was part of the local organizing committee that helped recruit IBMA’s World of Bluegrass to Raleigh. \nIn the colder months the jam is held in the TransferCo Ballroom. However\, please note that this is not a “learning” or “slow” jam. If you want to play at a slower tempo you might want to check out our monthly “Beginners’ Jam” at Harry’s Guitar Shop.  Regardless\, this is a great place to meet other musicians who share your enthusiasm for bluegrass. \nPlease remember – every jam is different! This jam tends to draw a big crowd\, and it is open to musicians of all skill levels. Please help us make sure that newer players feel welcome! Also\, big\, mixed level jams can be challenging. SUMMARY:The Annual Beer and Banjos Thanksgathering
DESCRIPTION:It’s time for the annual Beer and Banjos Thanksgathering\, where you’ll be stuffed full of great music from the Beer and Banjos Allstars. The main course is a full musical recitation of the Alice’s Restaurant Massacree. Bring your friends\, bring your family\, and give thanks for this musical community. \nBeer and Banjos is a free\, family-friendly evening of roots music every Tuesday at Raleigh’s Bowstring Pizza and Brewyard. Hosted by the mighty local musicians known collectively as the Beer and Banjos Allstars\, these weekly concerts feature guest musicians and take place on Bowstring’s spacious patio when the weather allows\, or inside by the bar when rain\, heat\, or cold threaten the vibe. \nTips for the musicians are gratefully accepted (look for a helper walking around with a bucket for cash and QR codes for online tips)\, and don’t forget to check out the merch table. Bowstring serves tasty pizza and other food as well as cold beer and other beverages.

DESCRIPTION:The Fine Arts League of Cary (FALC) invites the community to celebrate the opening of their new Gallery in downtown Cary on Friday November 28th from 10am – 8pm (Black Friday).\nOn display and available for purchase will be paintings by local and regional artists who participated in FALC’s recent Art Swarm. Art Swarm brought dozens of the region’s top plein-air painters to downtown Cary.\nThe art gallery is located at 110 E. Park St.\nTo thank the public for supporting FALC’s events and programs\, the organization will also host a special opening during the Cary Christmas Parade on December 13th 1:00 – 4:00pm with free cookies and cider for visitors. The Cary Christmas Parade passes nearby on Academy Street from 2:00-4:00pm.\nIn addition to opening the new FALC Gallery the Fine Arts League of Cary is currently hosting additional art exhibits all free and open to the public:\n● Master Artists at The Mayton 301 S. Academy St. Cary NC.\n● FALC Annual Members Show November 19 – December 15 at the Page-Walker Arts & History Center 119 Ambassador Loop Cary NC. A public reception and awards ceremony will be held on Sunday December 7 2025 from 2 to 4 pm.\n● Final Friday Exhibits: The FALC Gallery at 110 E. Park St. is participating in Cary’s Final Friday Art Loop. On the last Friday of each month from 6 to 9 pm\, the gallery joins other downtown locations in showcasing the work of local artists. The next Final Friday Art Loop is November 28 2025 from 6 to 9 pm.\nThe FALC Gallery’s regular hours are Thursdays and Fridays 10 am – 5 pm\, Saturdays 9 am – 3 pm\, and Sundays 12:30 – 4:00 pm.
