Jones Theatre\, Theatre Raleigh Arts Center \nDrew Gehling makes his Theatre Raleigh debut with a one-night only concert! \nCurrently starring as William Shakespeare in the Broadway production of & Juliet\, Greensboro native Drew originated the role of Dr. Pomatter on Broadway in the Waitress after helping develop the piece at the American Repertory Theatre in Cambridge\, MA during the summer of 2015. Drew also developed the new musical Almost Famous at the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego\,later opening the musical on Broadway in the fall of 2022 . He joined the company of the award winning off-broadway production of Little Shop of Horrors for a limited engagement in 2023 and premiered a movie for Hallmark he co-wrote the story for with his dear buddy\, Kevin Duda. Concurrently\, the theatrical release of Waitress\, which premiered at the TriBeCa Film Festival has been universally acclaimed and continues to stream worldwide. On television and film\, Drew can be seen in HBO’s Succession\, 30 Rock \,Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt\, Smash\, Blue Bloods\, Chicago PD\, and A Good Person with Florence Pugh and Morgan Freeman\, and more.

SUMMARY:Cheerful Cellists: an Interactive Concert
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a fun\, family-friendly cello concert at Peach Road Cultural Center on August 17 at 2 pm! Our program features light and accessible pieces where we’ll invite audience members to join along with our cellists (on simple instruments like shakers and Boomwhackers) so come ready to hear and try new things as part of this experience! Listeners ages 3 and up are welcome\, and those 12 and under should have a parent in attendance. \nThis concert is free to attend though tickets must be reserved in advance due to limited seating capacity. If you’d like to make a donation to support our ensemble you may do so via Venmo or Paypal to jgCello. Donations are warmly welcomed and greatly appreciated. \nAdditionally “this project is supported by United Arts\, Raleigh Arts\, and the North Carolina Arts Council\, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources.” Their Artist Support Grant made the purchase of much of today’s equipment possible\, as well as supported Jean in her time composing her pieces on today’s program.
