DESCRIPTION:Year’s Conference\nPoverty continues to plague our communities and nation. Unfortunately\, deprivation in certain communities is rooted in systemic oppression and inequitable policies that disproportionately impact underrepresented groups. Churches and their members have a vital role in pursuing justice and equality. This year’s Being the Church One-Day Conference will examine the link between policy and poverty\, equipping congregations to move beyond charity-based responses toward a dual focus – meeting immediate needs while advocating for lasting systemic change.

DESCRIPTION:Come see a free\, informal showing of dance works by North Carolina choreographers. There will be a variety of dance works by North Carolina Dance Festival artists in residence. Six-month residents will be showing their completed works while yearlong residents will be showing works in progress. Audience members can take part in a Q&A session with choreographers and dancers following the show.
