SUMMARY:Contest Coaching with the Redbud Writing Project
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a free two-hour session where we’ll go over the basics of creative writing contests\, give you resources for how to learn about contests\, and help you prep your submission for the Coppice Prize\, our annual short story competition\, which will be open this year from March 1-March 31\, 2025. \nAbout the contest: writers are invited to submit unpublished short stories of up to 4\,000 words. Entry is free\, and the three winners will receive a cash prize\, publication in our annual Coppice Prize anthology\, and review from a literary agent. This year\, the contest is specifically for writers who identify as marginalized or underrepresented. \nCome join us on the 25th and learn how to make your story submission-ready!

DESCRIPTION:SATURDAY\, JANUARY 25\, 2025 7:30 PM\nGREENWOOD FOREST BAPTIST CHURCH\n110 SE Maynard Rd\, Cary \nThe Concert Singers of Cary Chamber Choir performs beautiful music in a beautiful space. The first half of the concert features Michael John Trotta’s For A Breath of Ecstasy\, a seven-movement celebration of the wondrous poetry of American Pulitzer Prize-winning poet\, Sara Teasdale. Vivid imagery and moments of yearning\, love\, joy\, and peace are revealed through an individual’s relationship to nature and in love. With Allen Bailey on piano and Bo Newsome on oboe. \nThe second half of the concert consists of exquisite choral favorites that take your breath away\, including motets by Bruckner and Rheinberger\, Tichelli’sThere Will Be Rest\, Kirchner’s arrangement of Bright Morning Stars\, Harris’ I am Loved\, and more. \nThe CSC Chamber Choir is an advanced ensemble consisting of members of the CSC Symphonic Choir and additional local singers\, including many public-school music teachers.
