SUMMARY:Bella White w/Ana Egge
DESCRIPTION:A truly original new voice in songwriting\, Bella White creates an undeniable magic by mining the rare duality at the heart of her artistry. Although she hails from the Canadian city of Calgary\, the 22-year-old singer/multi-instrumentalist grew up on the classic country and old-time music she first discovered thanks to her father\, a Virginia native who played in bluegrass bands all throughout her childhood. \nOn her debut album Just Like Leaving\, White balances her old-soul musicality with a lyrical perspective that’s entirely of-the-moment\, embracing an intense self-awareness as she documents her coming-of-age in real-time. “I’m still quite young\, but I was very young when I wrote this album\,” says the Victoria\, BC-based artist. “All of these songs came from processing my feelings right as I was experiencing certain things for the first time in my life.” \nThe evening opens with a set from singer/songwriter Ana Egge who Lucinda Williams described as “…the folk Nina Simone.” Egge has consistently garnered critical praise for her music\, and has worked with producers Steve Earle\, Joel Plaskett\, Alec Spiegelman\, and Stewart Lerman and recorded with Billy Strings\, Anais Mitchell and Iris DeMent. \nDon’t forget\, if you call PineCone at 919-664-8333 and purchase your tickets over the phone you will avoid all ticketmaster fees.

SUMMARY:PINECONE presents: Bella White (w/Ana Egge opening)
DESCRIPTION:Bella White is a truly original new voice in songwriting. She weaves emotionally rich stories with seemingly simple melodies to create an undeniable magic. Her new song “Burn Me Once” is featured on the Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes soundtrack alongside bluegrass luminaries Billy Strings\, Molly Tuttle and Sierra Ferrell. \nAlthough she hails from the Canadian city of Calgary\, the 22-year-old singer/multi-instrumentalist grew up on the classic country and old-time music she first discovered thanks to her father\, a Virginia native who played in bluegrass bands all throughout her childhood. On her debut album Just Like Leaving\, White balances her old-soul musicality with a lyrical perspective that’s entirely of-the-moment\, embracing an intense self-awareness as she documents her coming-of-age in real-time. “I was very young when I wrote this album\,” says the Victoria\, BC-based artist. “All of these songs came from processing my feelings right as I was experiencing certain things for the first time in my life.” \nThe evening opens with a set from singer/songwriter Ana Egge. Lucinda Williams called Ana “…the folk Nina Simone.” Egge has consistently garnered critical praise for her music\, and has worked with producers Steve Earle\, Joel Plaskett\, Alec Spiegelman\, and Stewart Lerman and recorded with Billy Strings\, Anais Mitchell and Iris DeMent
