Dear Friends,
My heart is still full from Big Night In for the Arts last Thursday! What an amazing outpouring of support for our arts community after what has been an extraordinarily challenging year. It was inspiring to see not just our artists and organizations from Wake County, but all throughout the Triangle, come together for one night!
Big Night In for the Arts was not just BIG, it was HUGE! Last week, 35,000 viewers tuned in to WRAL-TV to celebrate the arts with us. With the help of 600 corporate sponsors and individual donors, Big Night In for the Arts raised more than $350,000!
If you did not watch Big Night In for the Arts live, it is not too late. You can watch several of the performances here, the pre-show with RDU On Stage on our YouTube channel, and our Artists in Schools segment featured that evening.
You can still make a Big Night In gift to support the arts in Wake County and across the Triangle – either by giving online OR by bidding on one of Marcelle Harwell Pachnowski’s musically inspired artworks from the evening’s performances. We plan to leave the auction and donation portals open through the end of March.
Thank YOU for supporting the arts in our community – whether you told a friend about the event, tuned in to watch the amazing artists perform, volunteered, or donated to help artists and arts organizations find a solid path to recovery once the pandemic has lifted.
We are also eternally grateful to our generous sponsors for their unwavering and unprecedented support of the arts. You can check them out below. How amazing to see so many individuals, businesses, and foundations who know what the arts can do to impact people’s lives and transform communities, and have already invested!
With our deepest gratitude for your support and partnership,
Charles Phaneuf
