Dale Morgan grew up in South Carolina exploring nature in her mother’s flower gardens and drawing every chance she had. In 1989, she travelled across the US and Canada for a year in a converted ’67 Chevrolet school bus, experiencing as many state and national parks as possible. She landed in Chapel Hill, NC, in 1994 where her love of nature and gardening inspired her own garden filled with birds, flowers and butterflies. The beauty and colors in her garden inspired her to revive her artistic talents. In 2005, Dale graduated from the NC Botanical Garden Botanical Illustration program. Since that time she has illustrated the flora and fauna of her home in Orange County, NC.
In 2007, she received a grant from the Orange County Arts Commission to exhibit her paintings of native wildlife. She’s a juried member of the Orange County Artists Guild and was selected to be a vendor at the Durham Craft Market in Durham’s Central Park. She is also a juried member of Womancraft Fine Handcrafted Gifts, an artist’s co-op in Chapel Hill.
