Arts Programming Support
Announced for 2008-2009
 
The United Arts Council of Raleigh and Wake County announces the investment of over a half million dollars in grants support for arts programming in the current fiscal year. Additionally, grants for the Artists in Schools program and Regional Artists Grants will be announced in September and December, respectively. In total, United Arts will expend over $1 million in support of artists, schools and arts programming presented by local arts organizations in 2008-2009.
 
Qualifying nonprofit organizations, as well as schools and Wake municipalities, were eligible to apply for grants to support arts programming occurring between July 1, 2008, and June 30, 2009. Qualifying grant application requests totaled $972,747, of which $504,958 or nearly 52% were funded. Arts programming to be presented by 44 organizations received support funding.
