To Highlight Past Grant Recipients
The United Arts Council of Raleigh and Wake County proudly presents the 2006 Regional Artists Showcase at the Clayton Center from May 30 - June 29, 2006. The exhibition is sponsored by United Arts Council, the Johnston County Arts Council and Clayton Visual Arts and spotlights past recipients of the Regional Artist Project Grants.
A reception is scheduled for June 22, 2006, featuring works by music, film/video, theater and dance artists in addition to the visual arts. Over $100,000 has been awarded since 2000 to more than 100 artists from the region of Franklin, Johnston, Vance, Wake and Warren Counties. Awards of up to $1500 have funded projects that furthered the artists' professional careers, including production of artwork, attendance at conferences or workshops and creation of promotional materials.
Administered by United Arts, the Regional Artist Project Grant Program receives major funding from United Arts and the North Carolina Arts Council, an agency funded by the State of North Carolina and the National Endowment for the Arts. The Franklin County Arts Council, Johnston County Arts Council, Vance County Arts Council and Warren County Arts Council provide additional support.
